July 27, 2015 marks the 75th “birthday” of Bugs Bunny, the most famous American cartoon character ever created by Warner Brothers Studio, and has now become a Looney-Tunespop culture icon of Americana. Bugs’ first toon played in theaters on July 27, 1940 in “A Wild Hare” where Bugs first said his famous line, “What’s up, doc?”‘  Check out this list of all the Bugs Bunny theatrical cartoons under “Looney Tunes.”

Aside from Bugs, Walt Disney’s “Mickey Mouse” (first cartoon, “Steamboat Willie” played in theaters on November 18, 1928) and King Features Syndicate, “Popeye the Sailor” (first animated cartoon 1933) are also the most popular cartoon characters of all time, pop culture icons over 75 years old!
