ME TV’s Fall Schedule

Cult TVFor those who watch the classic TV network, ME-TV, here is their new schedule beginning September 4. Added to the schedule is an hour of “Gilligan’s Island” at 8 p.m. weeknights along with “F-Troop” Monday through Thursday.  “The Love Boat” airs on Sundays. The network will show long-unseen made-for-TV movies on Friday nights at 8 p.m. Currently “Bewitched” and “I Dream of Jeannie” air at 8 p.m., and those two shows are not on the network’s fall schedule — but will likely return after having a rest.

ME TV can be seen for free everywhere, cable TV not required — by using a HD digital TV antenna.  It is a network digital sub-channel.

Definition: Digital sub-channels are channels that broadcast stations have in addition to their primary feed.

Sub-channels are made possible by digital technology. This is one advantage of digital television over analog – the ability to transmit multiple streams of video content within a single signal.

Examples:

My local CBS affiliate operates on 42.1. They have a digital sub-channel on 42.2. My local ABC affiliate also utilizes a sub-channel, which they use to show 24-hours of weather.

Other digital sub-channels in your area are Antenna TV and Retro TV, who also show old TV shows and can be seen either on your cable or by using an HD digital TV antenna (if you don’t have or want cable or satellite TV).
