A familiar vision from a time long forgotten!  This is what McDonalds hamburger joints used to look like when I was a kid back in the 1960s.  They were fun looking places with color and character — all lit up and enviting.  Those golden neon arches looked cool lit up at night with the building’s striped red and white facade.  It made you feel like you were at some sort of Disney attraction.  And all the McDonalds looked exactly like this, all over the country.  All you did was simply walk up to the counter and order your burger.  The buildings had a gimmicky character about them, different from all the rest — that made them stand out, enticing customers.  But today their buildings look dull.  Lost is that special look you could see from faraway — those bright, yellow arches — the promise of food!
