At $3.99 for a Watermelon, Vandals Have Been Throwing Watermelons at Cars

Gotta be the stupidest fools yet, wasting perfectly good, pricey watermelons by throwing them at cars. Hang the perps for being stupid!

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Police say vandals have been lobbing watermelons at cars in a Reno, Nevada, neighborhood.

KOLO-TV channel 8 reports Sunday night’s vandalism happened in Angelique Ybarra’s northwest Reno neighborhood. A watermelon dented the side of her car in July, and she says this new attack shattered glass and splattered fruit throughout her vehicle.

She says the incidents have cost her almost $1,000.

Several other cars were also hit by the melons.

See his rude, antagonistic encounter with a very patient Reno officer, who did not abuse him and respected his First Amendment Right to free speech by letting him go after he finished his chalking endeavor.

Local news channel 4 spoke with Deputy Chief Mac Venzon, who is very familiar with the Chalking protest.  Is chalking crossing the line?

The officer said:

“You know people have a first amendment right to protest, to say what they want to say and voice their opinion. We swore to uphold that constitutional right and that’s exactly what we will do.”

The protestor in the video is not arrested despite what some might perceive as antagonistic behavior toward officers.

Venzon said, “Officers are trained to deal with button pushing, to develop a little bit of a thicker skin.”

He adds, unlike in other cities, the Reno Police Department has a good relationship with the community.

Kenneth Dale Wakefield, high on Synthetic Marijuana, is accused of stabbing his wife MULTIPLE TIMES and then decapitating her and two dogs while high on drugs. He then gouged out his eye and sliced off his arm from below the elbow (source story).  Police officers found the decapitated body of 49-year-old Trina Heisch inside a walk-in closet in the home. The bodies of two dogs, each decapitated, were found inside the home as well.  He was convicted of stabbing his mother in 2003, but “experts” let him free.

AssholeryA New Mexico couple, Joshua and Irene Enriquez, took their kids along when they threw fireworks at a sleeping, homeless Native American Indian man, setting him on fire. The couple faced a judge and have been charged with three counts of child abuse, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, tampering with evidence and conspiracy. Both are being held on $100,000 cash or bonds and the husband was on probation at the time for another crime.

The homeless victim remains in the intensive care unit at the hospital.
