An Elyria, Ohio weirdo sent Louise Henry, a kindly 84-year-old African American woman, a threatening letter telling her to take down her Christmas lights because Christmas is way over and he’s sick of seeing the lights still up. Cops engaged in manhunt to find the crazy who sent the letter via the postal service.

HIV-associated lipodystrophy is a syndrome that occurs in HIV-infected patients who are being treated with antiretroviral medications. Lipodystrophy is a problem with the way the body produces, uses, and stores fat. It is also called fat redistribution. Since the widespread use of antiretroviral therapy began, the numbers of HIV-positive people with lipodystrophy has increased. Today, lipodystrophy occurs in 30% to 50% of people who are infected with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus).

Lipodystrophy usually occurs in the stomach or on the back of the neck (called “buffalo hump”).

• The older protease inhibitors (PIs) and nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) have been implicated in causing lipodystrophy.  It is less common in the newer medications. . The longer you take these drugs, the greater your risk appears to be.  An older NRTI linked to fat loss is Zerit (stavudine, d4T).
• HIV itself may interfere with the way the body processes fat.  More severe and lengthier HIV disease may increase your risk.

A survey of children’s Christmas wish lists reveals a disturbing trend: they’re wishing for a daddy.

Christian moral police, naturally, latch on to this sad news, harping about the sin of unwed, feminist mothers and its effect on the minds of children.  According to Single Mother Statistics 2012, 11.7 million families in the US were headed by a single parent, 85.2% of which were headed by a female.  The CDC reports 1.6 million women had unwed births, and of all the births recorded, 40.8% of them (roughly half) were to unmarried mothers.  Also, after one gun nut 20-year-old, the product of a single-mother, shot to death a bunch of little school kids recently, all of a sudden the media begins reporting that children of unwed mothers is the root cause of gun violence.

2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
8 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 cups whole milk
1/2 cup champagne

Blend sugar into butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk mixture. Then slowly blend in the the flour mixed with baking powder and salt into the wet mixture. Then add the champagne into the mixture and blend into a smooth batter. Pour into cupcake tins, top with buttercream frosting.
