Joel Woloshuk’s focaccia sandwich contained live maggots in the cheese. He gave the gross thing to news media to go after the sandwich vendor at the Atlanta, Georgia airport.

That pink color in berry yogurt is NOT strawberry — it’s a fake DYE made from BUGS called CARMINE.

Did you know that Dannon has been using a red dye in its yogurt products called CARMINE that is the pulverized bodies of insects?  See the press release, “Berries Over Bugs!”

“The average yogurt eater sees the redness and thinks strawberries. There’s a picture of a strawberry on the label, not an insect.” This is a TRICK, a LIE.

To give some of its fruit-flavored yogurt a pink color, instead of using actual berries, the Dannon company uses the bug dye carmine instead.  Carmine is a bright red dye derived from the aluminum salt of carminic acid, which naturally occurs in the scales of cochineal insects.  To get carmine dye, the insects are dried and then boiled.

“I have nothing against people who eat insects, but when I buy strawberry yogurt I’m expecting yogurt and strawberries, and not red dye made from bugs,” CSPI executive director Michael F. Jacobson said.  Continue Reading….

The Radioactive Fountain of Youth’s Tap

Margaret Baumherdt has been drinking from the fountain since 1967, years before any warning went up. Baumherdt, who is now 88, moved to the area when she was in her early 40s and remembers having to wait in line to drink the water.

She gets her daughter to drive her to the fountain from her home in nearby Port Charlotte, the town across the harbor, and fills up as many as 40 gallon jugs at a time. She drinks the water exclusively and even uses it to cook meals like spaghetti. Tap water’s chlorine content doesn’t sit well with her. The fountain water, however, is just right.

“I love the taste,” she said.

A new analysis finds that more than three-quarters of mass-market honey is low-quality junk that has been stripped of all its pollen.

Most golden honey you see at your local grocery is dead and far from the health promoting powerhouse of its raw unpasteurized counterpart. “Faux honey represents seven percent of food fraud cases, according to the study in Journal of Food Sciences. Pollen from the bee-made product rarely makes it to store shelves, with 75 percent of honey containing no pollen. The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) United States Standards for Grades of Extracted Honey allows pollen to be screened out as part of a process to remove particles of bee parts and organic matter, but producers are using this to their advantage to sell cheaper “honey.” The faux honey scandal arose when China began to launder the sweet bee product by sending containers of cut-rate honey to the Philippines to have it relabeled and sent to American companies. The honey was contaminated with unauthorized antibiotics and pesticides that can impose a series of health risks to consumers of the nectar product.”

Perhaps buying a bee pollen supplement for its health benefits — instead of buying processed supermarket honey — is the way to go.

STOP EATING SHIT FOOD, DAMN YOU!

You’d think a restaurant selling heart healthy fish would not be on the list of bad artery-clogging heart attack-causing food, but its “Big Catch” meal — which is a deep-fried haddock filet, fried onion rings and friend hush puppies — has 33 grams of trans fats, which it states adds up to two weeks worth of the amount recommended by American Heart Association.  People should limit themselves to two grams of trans fat daily, according to the American Heart Association, and most people should eat 1,500 milligrams of sodium per day, according to the Institute of Medicine.

All they need do is offer the haddock either baked or broiled instead of soaking it in a vat of grease.  And Long John’s hush puppies taste terribly bland; no flavor at all.  Nothing more than a ball of dough.  The onion rings are fine, but they come soaked in grease just like the fish.  You’ll need lots of paper napkins to wipe the grease off your fingers eating there.

Notice all those TV commercials for restaurants like Olive Garden and Red Lobster offering “succulent shrimp” dishes all slathered and dripping with fat?

Replace shrimp with human turds and you get the same thing, chemical-wise. They’re feeding you FILTH, buddy.

SHRIMP SUCKER

Did you know they’re offering you the most nastiest of imported seafood, laden with contaminants and cancer-causing chemicals: Antibiotics, cleaning chemicals used in farmed shrimp pens, residues of toxic pesticides banned in the U.S.? Not only that but the shrimp are heavily pumped with antibiotics for Salmonella and E. coli, both of which have been detected in imported shrimp. Imported shrimp is so dirty that it accounts for 26 to 35 percent of all shipments of imported seafood that get rejected due to filth. Rresearchers have examined imported ready-to-eat shrimp, they found 162 separate species of bacteria with resistance to 10 different antibiotics. And yet, as of 2008, Americans are eating 4.1 pounds of shrimp apiece each year — significantly more than the 2.8 pounds per year we each ate of the second most popular seafood, canned tuna.

“Shrimp eat or ingest toxins and waste but do not have the digestive systems to release them. That means they are absorbed into their flesh and cannot be cleaned of them, boiled, fried, grilled or baked out. You literally eat what they have eaten. This is why they are an unclean food.”

Getting domestic shrimp is no better — because 70% of it comes from the Gulf of Mexico — where there was a massive toxic oil spill in 2010. Testing of the current shrimp from that area finds the chemical Corexit, the chemical dispersant used during the spill for clean-up.
