“Rhoda” Is Dying of Terminal Brain Cancer

Valerie Harper, age 73, famous for her role as Mary Tyler Moore‘s neighbor-friend “Rhoda Morgenstern” on the classic 1970s sitcom, “Mary Tyler Moore” show, has disclosed she has terminal brain cancer and it’s spreading.  Harper is now undergoing chemotherapy, but her doctor said she may have only a few months left.  She won three consecutive Emmys (1971-73) as supporting actress on “Mary” plus another for outstanding lead actress for “Rhoda,” which ran from 1974-78.  In January, Harper published a new memoir, “I, Rhoda.”
